The healthy Isle of Wight!
29 September 2006 08:58

This is the first time since we set this company up (7 years ago) that all of us are ill at the same time! The office is still running OK, but we all feel lousy.
Have a good weekend

A bad day
26 September 2006 15:42

One of our PC monitors just made a large “pop” & caught fire, two of the “team” are off sick today – (there is a dreadful cold thing going about), one of the laser printers is playing up - & it’s really hot today.

Look forward to Wednesday!

Crisps
22 September 2006 13:23

An article is out today from the British Heart Foundation saying that if you eat one packet of crisps every day for a year, the amount of cooking oil you consume is 5 Litres (see attached picture).

I think where children are concerned; It’s basically the parents fault if they have bad diets. Our sons go to school with several children who have at least 2 packets of crisps per day in their lunch box!  Jamie Oliver has really started educating people - long may he continue!

A really good e-mail to receive!
11 September 2006 09:53

Just got this e-mail in today
"
Your site is absolutely perfect. On previous property buying I have spent time and money travelling 90 miles to check a property which 'other' estate agents have given as 'just what you have instructed us to look for' only to find a pig farm on the next property! With your excellent site I can easily check your properties from my armchair giving information about the nearest DIY store!  Nearest hospitals, etc. and the satellite views can even show me who my next door neighbour would be ;-), not to mention the 'slide show' pictures. All this important information will definitely save me time and money in choosing the right kind of property instead of the usual waste of time with most other 'shop' estate agents or the lack of information given by "other" well known home web sites ! ! !

Yours will be THE site I will be using in earnest this time next year.

Note, I don't normally respond to web sites but I was so impressed with this one that I just had to send this e-mail.

Mr & Mrs O"
Thanks Mr & Mrs O !

House sellers on the Island - beware!
08 September 2006 13:34

Two of our customers today have advised that they had other agents around within the last week to discuss their property, whilst visiting the agents also took photographs.
Today, both these properties have been uploaded to “Rightmove” in both cases without our customer’s authority! (Customers are both hopping mad).
Fortunately we have one buyer for one property & lots of interest for the other new property.

It does really annoy me that some agents on the Isle of Wight get away with this time & time again – it gives us all a bad name. (Both agents aren’t in the National Association of Estate Agents – www.naea.co.uk  - you can’t get thrown out, if you’re not in it!)

School Summer Holidays
07 September 2006 09:26

One of the most unexpected consequences of having children is the feeling of guilt. You feel that you don’t spend enough time with them & then if you do spend a lot of time, then are you are swamping them? And another thought - should they spend more time with their own age or less – it’s a delicate balance.
When I was their age we had three channels on the TV & we got very bored – their life seems sweet!

Now they are back to school.

Isle of Wight Rain
02 September 2006 13:18

We have been so busy lately here at the Isle of Wight Homes Offices. It’s always surprising how much busier we are after a Bank Holiday Monday – it’s only an extra day off, but it seems like we were closed for about four days. And of course it’s now chucking down with rain outside, as it’s the weekend.

By the way - if you do phone always leave a message on 01983 721831 – we find that by having a message service we frequently take four messages all at exactly the same time, we can then pick up the messages as soon as we are free on the other lines. The alternative is to get an engaged tone - something I hate!
