NINE people were arrested after five Island restaurants were raided by immigration officers. The arrests on Wednesday and yesterday (Thursday) will be followed by steps to remove illegal workers from the country, said the UK Border Agency.

A LEAP in the number of pagans in an Island jail has added to pressure for better religious facilities. More than five per cent of the HMP Albany’s prisoners are pagans, after a rise in the past eight months from around 12 to 34, making it the fifth most practised religion in the category-B jail.
