On the western side of the Isle of Wight you will find the coastal towns of Yarmouth, Freshwater and Totland. Yarmouth is linked to Lymington by the Wightlink Car Ferry which provides connections to the train services to Southampton and Bournemouth.

The West Wight is one of the most secluded parts of the Isle of Wight. But still offers easy access to the shopping town of Newport. The Needles and lighthouse mark the extreme western edge of the Island and there are spectacular views of the white chalk cliffs from here to Freshwater and beyond.
 
Alum Bay is famous for the multi-coloured sand cliffs and chair lift. There are many tourist attractions, restaurants and pubs in the area including the Needles Old Battery, Yarmouth Fort, Fort Victoria Country Park including the Aquarium and Planetarium.
